Roberto Provenzano

Roberto Provenzano is a versatile dancer and actor with an extensive career in Italy and abroad. A long-time member of Compagnia Zappalà Danza, he is now based in Madrid.

As a teenager, he performed in the musical L’amore impossibile, la baronessa di Carini at Teatro Al Massimo in Palermo. In the summer of 2010, he began collaborating with the Sicilian ensemble, interpreting numerous major works by choreographer and artistic director Roberto Zappalà, and participating in the company’s national and international tours.

In 2013, Provenzano moved to Barcelona, where he danced for TV3 – Televisió de Catalunya CCMA in programs such as Polònia, Crackòvia, Oh Happy Day, and Còmics Show. He also performed with LaTaimada/Olga Àlvarez and was featured in the National Dance Production of Catalonia – Mercat de les Flors, dancing in works by Thomas Noone and Roser López Espinosa, with whom he continued collaborating on productions including Novembre and Trama.

In 2015, he joined the cast of Sugar, Con Faldas y a lo loco, a musical produced by SOM-HI FILMS.

In 2020, Provenzano launched his first creative project, Il Viaggio, a trilogy inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. The first chapter, L’Inferno, premiered nationally on October 4, 2022, at the MILANOLTRE Festival.

From 2021 to 2023, he worked in Munich with German choreographer Moritz Ostruschnjak, performing in three of his productions: Yester:now, Terminal Beach, and Rabbit Hole.

In 2024, in Madrid, he joined the cast of Medusa, a theater and dance production directed by José María del Castillo, alongside Victoria Abril and Adrián Lastra. The production premiered at the 70th Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Mérida.

Now based in Madrid, Provenzano continues developing his artistic practice, incorporating elements of physical theater and musical performance as interpretative and educational tools.
