Nnamdi Nwagwu

Nnamdi Nwagwu is an Afro-Italian choreographer and dancer trained at Professione Danza Parma and the Codarts University of the Arts in the Netherlands. He later continued his studies at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT S.I.).

The recipient of several international awards, he has performed in Mexico, Cuba, Germany, Switzerland, China, Italy, Canada, the United States, and France, appearing on major stages and in internationally recognized contexts. He collaborates as a guest choreographer with institutions such as the Teatro Regio di Parma, Korzo Theater, and other European organizations.

In 2023, he became the first Afro-Italian choreographer to create a work for the Stuttgart Ballet, and he also presented new creations for the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Ballet School, and the students of the Paris Opera Ballet School during the AI23 program in Toronto.

In 2025, he premiered three new works: one for the Stuttgart Ballet, one for the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet in collaboration with ISH Dance Collective, and Le Prefiche, a project selected through the Orsolina28 call. At 22 years old, he is shortlisted for Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 as one of the most influential artists in his field.Alongside his choreographic work, he collaborates as a movement director with brands such as Vogue, Tod’s, Zalando, Tinder, and Calvin Klein, and works as an international choreographer and guest artist, based in the Netherlands.
