Born in Pisa in 1997, Matilde Di Ciolo began studying dance at age six at Proscaenium School in Pisa. Her training included periods at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza and the Arabesque School in Livorno before she was admitted to the Balletto di Toscana School in 2012.
In 2014, she joined the Junior Balletto di Toscana, performing works by Eugenio Scigliano, Davide Bombana, Arianna Benedetti, and Diego Torelli. She has collaborated with institutions including Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro La Fenice, and Tanz Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, dancing in productions by Susanna Sastro, Giovanni Di Cicco, Alessio Maria Romano, Jiří Bubeníček, and Arianna Benedetti.
Since 2020, she has been involved in several original creations, including Inner Ballad by Roberto Doveri, Between (co-choreographed with Matteo Capetola and Carmine Catalano), Bayadere by Michele Di Stefano, Ombre by Massimiliano Volpini, and I(N)TERACTION by Beatrice Ciattini and Niccolò Poggini.
In 2022, she debuted at Teatro Regio di Parma in Quatuor pour la fin du temps by Mario Bermúdez Gil and later performed in 4/4 (Ciattini/Poggini) and Midnight Youth by Philippe Kratz. In 2023, she danced in Peter and the Wolf, LPPMDVDM by Pablo Girolami, IlMMA by Aldo Nolli, and a special performance for Cartier at Palazzo Vecchio with choreography by Jared Hageman.
In 2024, she performed in The Red Shoes and Dusk by Kratz and is currently working on a solo with Davide Di Giovanni for the Nutida Festival. She is currently a member of Nuovo Balletto di Toscana under the direction of Philippe Kratz.
