Marion Barbeau

Marion Barbeau (born 10 June 1991, Nogent-sur-Marne, France) is a French ballerina and actress whose career bridges classical excellence and contemporary versatility. Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, she entered the Paris Opera Ballet School in 2002 and joined the Paris Opera Ballet in 2008, at the age of 17. Rising steadily through the company’s ranks—Coryphée (2013), Sujet (2016), and AROP Dance Award (2017)—she was promoted to Première Danseuse in 2019, becoming one of the emblematic artists of her generation. Barbeau is recognized for a wide-ranging repertoire spanning the great neoclassical tradition and today’s leading choreographic voices, including works by George Balanchine, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Sharon Eyal, Jiří Kylián, and others. In 2022, she made a major screen debut as the lead in Cédric Klapisch’s film En corps (Rise), bringing her artistry to a broader public and earning major-award attention for her performance. Marion Barbeau left the Paris Opera Ballet in 2024 and continues developing her path across performance, creation, and film.
