Mackenzie Brown grew up in Stafford, Virginia (USA). She began dancing at the age of three at the Barton & Williams School of Classical Dance, and by age nine, she had also joined the Classical Ballet of Fredericksburg to pursue formal ballet training.
In 2016, she reached the finals of the Youth America Grand Prix in New York City, earning a scholarship to the Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo, where she completed her studies in 2020. In 2019, she competed at the Prix de Lausanne, winning the Gold Medal, the Contemporary Dance Prize, and the Audience Favourite Award. In March 2023, she was awarded the prestigious Erik Bruhn Prize.
Brown joined the Stuttgart Ballet as a member of the Corps de Ballet in the 2020/21 season. She was promoted to Demi-Soloist the following year and to Soloist in the 2022/23 season. In October 2023, after a lauded debut as Juliet in John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, she was promoted to Principal Dancer.
