Jari Boldrini

Jari Boldrini is a contemporary dancer and choreographer whose artistic research focuses on the relationship between body, perception, and performative language. After studying at the Opus Ballet Training Center in Florence, he began collaborating with major figures and companies in Italian contemporary dance.

Over the years, he has worked with artists and organizations including Virgilio Sieni, Fabrizio Favale / Le Supplici, Cristina Kristal Rizzo, Nelson Reguera, Thierry Smith, Letizia Renzini, Marina Giovannini, and Stefano Questorio, developing a performance practice rooted in experimentation and interdisciplinary dialogue.

As a performer, Boldrini has taken part in productions by the Compagnia Virgilio Sieni, including ensemble works presented internationally and site-specific creations exploring gesture, proximity, and listening among bodies.

Alongside his performing career, he has developed choreographic work since the mid-2010s. Among his creations are Vesalii Icones (Biennale Musica di Venezia, 2014), Verso una visione caleidoscopica (2015), Ultima Estate (finalist at Premio Equilibrio 2018), and projects such as Divino per Meta and Tiny Space Costruzione.

In 2018, he co-founded C.G.J. – Collettivo Giulio e Jari with dancer and choreographer Giulio Petrucci, a research-based artistic project exploring new performative formats and the expressive potential of the body in relation to everyday life and cultural landscapes.
With the collective, Boldrini has created works such as Evento and Pas de deux, presented in festivals including Romaeuropa Festival, Fabbrica Europa, Gender Bender, Interplay, and Operaestate.

The collective received recognition from the Italian dance network Anticorpi XL, won the Danza&Danza Award as emerging performers (2020), and developed projects supported by Nexus Factory, Anghiari Dance Hub, and the Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza Virgilio Sieni, where they have been associate artists since 2024.

Boldrini’s artistic trajectory combines performance, choreography, and collaborative research, with a particular interest in relational movement, visual composition, and interdisciplinary creation.
