Imma Del Duca

Imma Del Duca was born in Naples and began studying dance at four, earning her diploma from a private school. She deepened her training in modern and classical dance under the guidance of renowned national and international teachers. She pursued internship programs at the Academy of Rome and continued her studies through private courses. As a dancer, she performed in various television and theater productions.

In 2002, she started her teaching in one of Naples’ neighborhoods. From the very beginning, her path was not an easy one, as she had to confront persistent prejudices: “Dance is useless,” “Dance won’t get you anywhere,” “Dance is only for girls,” “Dance is just an expense.” These were the discouraging words many young students frequently heard. Unfortunately, during adolescence, such sentiments often prevailed, leading many to abandon their passion.

Imma’s unwavering dedication and passion for helping young dancers achieve their dreams quickly yielded remarkable results. In 2014, a group of her students was selected to compete in the RAI television show La Pista, hosted by Flavio Insinna. They finished in second place.

Over the years, she has participated in numerous dance competitions, offering visibility and opportunities to young talents. For Imma, dance is not just a means to become a professional dancer but a tool for enriching the soul and broadening the mind.

In 2023, she produced a stage performance titled Filomena Marturano. To this day, she continues to teach and create choreographies tailored to her students’ personalities. She does not define herself as a choreographer but rather as a teacher, as her work extends far beyond choreography itself.

For many years, the ASD Universal Center (df.studio) has been a community cornerstone, offering young people a brighter future. It cultivates excellence in dance alongside martial arts, particularly Karate.
