Giovanni Insaudo is an internationally acclaimed choreographer and founder of the dance collective I VESPRI | Giovanni Insaudo.
His artistic vision and choreographic language have evolved through years of collaborations with prestigious companies and institutions, allowing him to refine a distinctive approach that blends physicality, emotion, and narrative.
In 2024, he was awarded the Danza&Danza Prize as Best Emerging Choreographer of the Year and received the City of Foligno Award for choreographic merit.
In 2025, he was named Newcomer of the Year by the prestigious Tanz Magazine.
Throughout his career, Giovanni has created numerous works presented at major international festivals and competitions, including Keller, Acamante e Fillide, Crisalide, Diva, Sueño de Plata, AriK/KirA, I Have Seen That Face Before, and Nostalgia.
His creations have been performed across Europe, Asia, and North America — in countries such as Italy, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey, the Netherlands, Israel, Denmark, Belgium, Taiwan, Switzerland, and Poland.
Beyond his work with I VESPRI, Giovanni has been commissioned to create pieces for renowned dance companies and institutions, including Semperoper Dresden, Opera Graz, Landestheater Linz, Theater Lüneburg, Gärtnerplatz Theater, Konzert und Theater St.Gallen, CNN/AterBalletto, Theater Trier, Theater Nordhausen, Hung Dance, Tanz Luzerner Theater, Palucca Hochschule Dresden, Compagnia Opus Ballet, Opera of Ankara, Tanz Labor/Roxy Theater Ulm, Eko Dance Project Torino, Contemporary Bachelor ZHDK Zurich, Oriol Martorell Conservatory Barcelona, D.A.F. Rome, Nuovo Balletto di Toscana, and Balletto dell’Esperia.
He has received numerous awards, including the 2nd Prize at the Certamen Coreográfico Internacional Burgos-New York, the 3rd Prize and Production Award at the Copenhagen International Choreographic Competition, the MasDanza Audience Prize, and the Audience Award at the Hannover International Competition.
