Francesco Nappa was born in Naples in 1974 and began dancing at the
Accademia Napoletana di Danza Classica.
During his training, he joined Ballet Napoli and received the Thomas Cooks
scholarship, which enabled him to enter the Pre-Professional class at the English
National Ballet in London.
In 1992, he joined Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, where he soon became principal
soloist. In 2000, he joined the Royal Danish Ballet and two years later the
Nederland Dans Theater. In 2005, he joined Les Ballets de Monte Carlo.
Since 2008, he has pursued his career as a freelance artist.
In 2023, Francesco Nappa was appointed Artistic Director of Theater Hagen. His
position begins with the 2023/2024 season.
