Davide Iacobone began studying dance at a young age, exploring a range of styles—from sports dance to urban and finally academic forms. Over the years, he honed his classical and contemporary techniques, working closely with teachers, dancers, and choreographers to eventually develop his method of movement and research.
After earning a degree in Design from the Politecnico di Milano and gaining experience in the communication industry, he deepened his training in contemporary dance through periods with national and international companies and workshops led by choreographers from around the world.
He participated both as a dancer and choreographer in the Bremerhaven Gala, invited by director Sergei Vanaev, and at the TanzArt Festival in Giessen under the artistic direction of Tarek Assam (Germany).
Since 2019, he has been dedicated to the production of La Morale degli Schiavi, which won first prize as an emerging company. He choreographed Inconsistent Systems for the opening of the 34th MIX Festival in Milan. In 2021, he was awarded a Black Box residency at Balletto di Siena, where he presented his first work-in-progress, Caleidoscopio. In 2022, he created This Is Not a Chair, a Story About Pigs, Apples and Souls for Balletto di Firenze.
As a dance educator, Iacobone has collaborated with numerous institutions across Italy and abroad, including Balletto di Firenze, Balletto di Castelfranco Veneto, Professione Danza Pescara, Artedanza Novara, Artemente, The Bridge Pigato Contemporary, Officina delle Arti, AlpiDanza, and Ormars Labprofessionali. He is currently a resident faculty member at Formazione TAM, a professional contemporary dance program based at Teatro Arcimboldi and Teatro Carcano in Milan.
In 2022, he was selected for Solocoreografico in Frankfurt, where his piece Shadows Inside, performed by Thomas Benedetti, received widespread acclaim. In January 2024, he presented a first study of Hinterlands: How to Look the Part by Vittorio Pagani during Resolution 24 at The Place in London.
In March 2024, he premiered two original works—Balance of Forces and It’s All In My Head—with dancers from The Bridge Pigato Contemporary during the Next Dance event in collaboration with the Rambert School in London. In September 2024, he choreographed the final performance for the closing of the MIX Festival in Milan, in collaboration with visual artist Fumettineri.
Since September 2024, he has served as the Artistic Director of Open Mind, a project focused on performance and contemporary dance based in Trentino-Alto Adige. In December 2024, he was invited to Thessaloniki, Greece, to teach a masterclass on behalf of the Ukrainian Ballet Academy as part of a cultural exchange with the association Peasxo.
In March 2025, he staged two new creations—Double Billing and Shadows Crossing the Ceiling—for the production Ballet Meets Contemporary in Thiene, in collaboration with The Bridge Pigato Contemporary and the Romanian National Opera of Iași.
In May 2025, he presented Se Cade un Albero (If a Tree Falls) with students from Formazione TAM and the Ukrainian Ballet Academy, as part of the Teatro Carcano’s seasonal program in a contemporary evening titled Serate d’Autore.
