Charlie Skuy (Toronto, Canada, 5 May 2000) is a Canadian dancer and choreographer based in the Netherlands. He trained at Canada’s National Ballet School (2011–2018) before joining Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) in 2018, dancing with NDT 2 (2018–2021) and then NDT 1 from August 2021.
Alongside his performing career, Skuy continuously developed his own voice as a maker—creating choreographies, films, and performance projects. He is recognized for work that blends virtuosic physicality with theatrical imagination, often drawing on “dreamlogic,” character, and free association. After seven years with NDT, Skuy transitioned to a freelance path, focusing fully on his independent creations across dance, performance, and film, and collaborating with artists and companies he admires. His work has received notable recognition, including an award at the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition, and for his duet KEVIN, he received the Conny Janssen Danst Partner Award at RIDCC 2023.
