Annamaria Di Maio

Annamaria Di Maio, a graduate of Dance Disciplines and a classical technique teacher at the Liceo Coreutico Statale “Galizia” in Nocera Inferiore, is the Artistic Director of ARB Dance Company. She holds a Master’s degree in Performing Arts Management from Alma Mater, Bologna. Over four decades, she has trained dancers in Campania while striving to transform Caserta—historically distant from dance culture—into a thriving center for choreographic practice. By fostering young talent and implementing best practices, she has provided aspiring artists with opportunities for professional and cultural growth.

Since 2012, Di Maio has co-produced works such as Precariato with Zerogrammi and choreographed productions including Attimo (2013), Mishima (2013), and Mezzo Nero, Rosso Mezzo (2015). Her theater management expertise and high-caliber artistic collaborations have earned the trust of renowned choreographers, positioning ARB Dance Company as a reputable institution in the field. Di Maio’s vision extends beyond performance; she actively works to develop the dance ecosystem through research, performances, workshops, and the mentorship of emerging choreographers, including winners of the ARB contest such as Roberta De Rosa (Le Città Invisibili), Nyko Piscopo (Sweet Swan Sway!), Adriano Bolognino (La più viva delle città morte), Francesca Gammella (Camille – L’odore della Pelle), and Marco Munno (NJRD, 2024).

As a jury member for major competitions like Residanza and a leader in arts education initiatives, Di Maio continues shaping contemporary dance’s landscape. She is featured in Storia della Danza by Aldo Masella (IV edition) and L’Industria dello Spettacolo in Campania, curated by AGIS Campania.
