Described by The New York Times as “one of the world’s most exceptional dancers,” Alban Lendorf is a multifaceted artist whose career spans ballet, acting, and teaching on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.
Lendorf received his formal dance education at the Royal Danish Ballet School in Copenhagen, graduating in 2006. His prodigious talent quickly propelled him through the ranks, and by 2011, he was promoted to Principal Dancer at the Royal Danish Ballet. His international acclaim led him to join the American Ballet Theatre as a Principal Dancer in 2015, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the classical ballet World. Since 2020, he has embraced a global career as a freelance International Guest Artist, performing on the stages of renowned theaters worldwide.
Throughout his ballet career, Lendorf has performed an extensive repertoire of leading roles in classical and neoclassical works. His standout performances include iconic ballets such as Swan Lake, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo & Juliet, Manon, Lady of the Camellias, Apollo, La Bayadère, Le Corsaire, La Sylphide, Coppélia, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Le Jeune Homme et la Mort, and Napoli, among many others. His ability to bring depth and nuance to both romantic and dramatic roles has made him a sought-after guest artist across the globe.
In addition to his illustrious dance career, Lendorf has cultivated a passion for acting, studying at Sheila Gray Studios in New York City. He has seamlessly transitioned into the theatrical world, taking on leading roles in productions such as August Strindberg’s Miss Julie, as well as the musicals Dirty Dancing and Saturday Night Fever. His versatility extends to the screen, with multiple appearances in feature films and television series, further showcasing his dynamic range as a performer.
