Adi Schwarz joined the Batsheva Dance Company Ensemble at the age of 18, where he had the opportunity to work with some of the most influential choreographers in contemporary dance, including Ohad Naharin, Bobbi Jene Smith, Or Schraiber, and Hillel Kogan. His time with the company also involved collaborative projects through Batsheva Dancers Create, where he partnered with fellow dancers Ohad Mazor, Maya Botzer Simhon, Gili Yaniv, and Yarden Bareket. These experiences contributed to Adi’s growth as a dynamic artist within the contemporary dance landscape.

Adi’s notable productions include Happy HomeA Short Game in the PlaygroundGregor Samsa, and Tia the Alien, each reflecting his versatility and commitment to pushing creative boundaries. His upcoming projects further demonstrate his bold artistic vision. The Pink Triangle, set to premiere in Salt Lake City with Ballet Opera de Guerra, is a transformative piece that challenges rigid masculinity norms through the reclaimed symbolism of the pink triangle, featuring male-presenting dancers and encouraging audiences to rethink societal constructs of gender expression. Additionally, Cheap Material is a provocative choreographic exploration of femininity and sexual taboos, delving into the complexities of female identity and inviting audiences to engage with unspoken aspects of women’s experiences and sexuality through evocative movement and storytelling.

Adi’s work has been recognized internationally, leading to residencies and commissions with prestigious institutions such as Elephant in the Black Box in Spain, a new creative process with Lucas Valence in Switzerland, and Danza 180 in Spain. Through these engagements, Adi continues to expand his artistic reach, contributing innovative and thought-provoking works to the global contemporary dance scene.
