About
Wounds of Autumn is Ella Rothschild’s fourth creation for Kammerballetten. She describes her work in these words:
“For me, these pieces are almost like a diary. They are always created within a specific context. Their language already exists, and there is always a fixed place — Copenhagen. These works tell small stories, inner conflicts, and sometimes raise questions for which I have no answer.”
Wounds of Autumn reflects the reality of our present time: loss, sadness, despair, violence — yet also the possibility of hope. It is not a love story; the couple represents something larger. We are in dialogue not only with a partner, but with our home, our country, our work. At the center stands a tormented self, embodied in the male figure and counterbalanced by the female presence. The work unfolds non-linearly, with temporal shifts and gaps. The man is losing himself; the woman assumes multiple roles — witness and participant, observing his dissolution while losing him herself.
This is the story of a woman whose name we do not know, and of Thomas Gray, who drifts around her like a shadow torn from its source. Thomas fractures into three selves: the weary man who feels life has slipped away, the young dreamer who believes the world owes him everything, and the weak, furious shadow — the most dangerous of all. Their unrest surrounds the woman and presses against her, yet she remains more than his reflection: bound to the conflict, but also its witness and anchor.

About
Unspoken is a contemporary solo born from the silence of lockdown and the weight of personal loss. Created during the pandemic, the work channels grief, isolation, and the sense of a world abruptly altered, transforming absence into physical language. Originally set within the monumental architecture of Grundtvig’s Church in Copenhagen, the dancer moves through stillness and rupture, searching for what cannot be said—until the body finds a way to speak.

About
Created as a world premiere for the Henraux Cava delle Cervaiole in Pietrasanta, Untitled (2026) is a duet in which dance and live music resonate within the marble cave—an encounter between human presence and monumental landscape. Filmed on location for Danish TV, the work becomes a cinematic postcard: Pietrasanta enters Danish homes, bringing its territory, cultural identity, and extraordinary stone architecture to audiences in Copenhagen and beyond.
