Maria Kochetkova & Daniil Simkin have had a dance partnership for 15 years and as an ode to journeys into the unknown our piece begins where the 1895 libretto of Swan Lake ends.

“Selvportræt (Self-portrait), an intimate and personal work threaded together by the characters representing Life, Love & Death. Inspired by the ancient myth of the Moirai; three goddesses who assigned a mortal’s destiny at birth by spinning a thread together. Clotho (The Spinner), Lachesis (The Allotter), and Atropos (The Inflexible). I wanted to use this metaphor as a mirror to hold onto all our lives during these strange and lonely times. Distant from each other, yet connected. A reflection on the beauty and pathos of our interwoven states. The stripping of one’s ego until we discover the resolution within the poetry of our fleeting existences.”

The german violinist Teresa la Cour (1986, Germany) has played around the world with many different ensembles, like the Henschel Quartett, Modern Tango Quintet and orchestras like the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cellist Jacob la Cour (1988, Denmark), founding member of Trio Vitruvi and Kammerballetten, has played in the world’s most renowned concert halls.

Roger van der Poel

Dancer

Roger Van der Poel (1983, Portugal) received his dance training at the Dance School of the National Conservatory in Lisbon for two years.

Toon Lobach

Dancer

Toon Lobach (1997, The Netherlands) started dancing at the “5 O’Clock Class”, a dance school directed by Jocelyn Bergland.

Paul Lightfoot

Choreographer

Paul Lightfoot (1966, England) joined Nederlands Dans Theater in 1985, starting as a dancer with NDT 2.

Alexander McKenzie grew up in Sydney, Australia, where he performed his first public concerts at the age of ten.
