KAMMERBALLETTEN is a company / festival which presents world premieres of new ballets in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the Royal Danish Opera House, as well as touring around the world.“The mix of physical meltdown and verbal explosion with Schubert’s romantic aesthetic seems just as surprising as it makes sense, when the subject is different ways we kill one another and each other dreams”, “An outstanding display of mental breakdown”. Majbrit Hjelmsbo, Weekendavisen
“Maria Kochetkova is so intense that it hurts”. Henriette Devantier, Sceneblog
“Once again, Maria Kochetkova and Sebastian Kloborg deliver an outstanding performance.”
“A baroque and humorous take on the theme of love, life and death, here as a war between lovers on a Persian carpet.” Monna Dithmer, Politiken.
“A dreamlike dance of stilettos and intimacy”. Anne Middelboe, Information.

PRIOR TO AND AFTER
Bored, fickle, and capricious, the gods yield to the fervent prayers of a nymph, allowing her body to forever unite with that of her beloved. In embracing the features of both, Hermaphrodite becomes a symbol of the perpetual coexistence of opposites.

A hint, a signal.
Lost at sea, trying to decipher what was said.
Reading between the lines, never quite there.
The fog is rising, murmurs, last week’s conversation louder and more acute now.
Effortlessly not connecting.
Chasing.
A whisper, a thought, a door slamming.
Say you’ll pay better attention next time.
The need for closeness.
You promised me poems.
