“We are the red and black of the earth, an ultramarine of worn-out sandals, pollen, and dust in tonight’s wind. One of us, speaking for all, said: ‘You won’t get rid of me. Fine, I’ll die, but in three days, I will rise again and return.'”
Confini Disumani, inspired by Erri De Luca’s Solo Andata, is a physical prayer, a denunciation, a stark and stripped-down portrait of our society. It is a civic call, a harrowing reflection on the loss of belonging.
The piece portrays a group of migrants devoid of identity, grappling with fear, loss, and the blinding force of ego, while relentlessly confronting danger. It magnifies the agonizing journey of bodies untethered from any sense of home, weaving a narrative that unfolds as a contemporary odyssey.
No pretense. This is what still happens today.
